Now before you send me =

for a job, hear me out. In this day and age a good =
r=C3=A9sum=C3=A9 is as=20
important as a passport.
I have to admit I have a great =
r=C3=A9sum=C3=A9.=20
If truth be told, I have several great r=C3=A9sum=C3=A9s. I =
can craft a r=C3=A9sum=C3=A9=20
for any position, within reason, and I usually get a =
call-back on=20
any job I apply for.
I have a r=C3=A9sum=C3=A9 for proper =
work and one for=20
all the artsy stuff I have found myself attached to. =
It=E2=80=99s surprising=20
to see what you can do when you put it down for the =
permanent=20
record.
The reason I sully the pages of this fine paper =
with the=20
dark spectre of work is that I have, in the past, reviewed =
some=20
discs that is some ways reflect the nature of a =
r=C3=A9sum=C3=A9.
Not to=20
demean, disparage or besmirch the fine work that goes into =
the=20
production of these works, far from it: Some discs come into =
being=20
with the express purpose to showcase the artist.![3D"The](3D"http://www.whatsupyukon.com/images/stories/2008/oct_16_2008/discou= "3D\"The")
Not surprising, these works are called =
demos, not as=20
in the Greek =E2=80=9Cdemos=E2=80=9D meaning =E2=80=9Cthe =
people=E2=80=9D but as in demonstration=20
i.e.: =E2=80=9COur rocking teenage combo has just cut a =
demo.=E2=80=9D Utterly=20
pedantic of course, but I=E2=80=99m just trying to be clear =
here, good=20
people.
Artists have, for the first time in history, the =
means of=20
production at their nimble fingertips. Dare I say an example =
of=20
demo-democracy?
With near immediate ability to produce =
albums of=20
their work, the fruits of their labours can be placed in the =
public=20
ear without meddling middlemen (and women) to hinder=20
creativity.
Case in point, this week is the disc by local =
DJ, The=20
Beat Bombshell.
Ms. Bombshell, for she is a woman, has =
created a=20
selection of tracks that showcases her particular brand of =
mix=20
technique entitled, Drum N Bass Mix.
This 14-track CD is =
an hour=20
plus of beat barrage that will release your booty to thrash =
and=20
flail, should you feel the urge to surge.
This music is =
not for=20
the faint of heart. This is high-energy music that has one =
thing on=20
its mind: to make you loosen your sacroiliac and get down =
with your=20
bad self.
With most tracks on this album clocking in well =
above=20
120 beats per minute, those of us reaching middle age will =
have to=20
get medical dispensation just to keep up.
CDs of this =
genre are,=20
by nature, a teaser of the live event and this is why they =
are a=20
r=C3=A9sum=C3=A9, a glimpse of what awaits, in the club, =
with the volume=20
up.
My humble advice would be to seek out a live show by =
The Beat=20
Bombshell and show her some love.
